E-Bikes Are Coming to Heart of Gold Gravel
There’s more than one way to ride gravel, and this year we’re making room for a few more riders at Heart of Gold.
New this year, e-bikes are officially welcome on the Short and Medium courses at Heart of Gold Gravel.
Why? Pretty simple: more bikes, more people, more fun.
Maybe an e-bike helps you keep up with your riding crew. Maybe it makes a longer day on the bike possible. Maybe you just like having a little extra juice when the road points uphill. Whatever gets you out there, we want more people experiencing the dirt roads, big views, ripping descents, and good times that make Heart of Gold what it is.
Guidelines for E-Bike Enthusiasts
For this year, we’re keeping things simple:
E-bikes are permitted-bikes are allowed on the Short and Medium courses only.
E-bikes are not eligible for placing or podium spots.
E-bike riders still get the full Heart of Gold experience: great gravel, Gold Country scenery, aid stations, finish-line hangs, and plenty of stories to take home.
This is our first year officially welcoming e-bikes to Heart of Gold, and the goal isn’t to complicate racing. It’s to give more riders a way to get out there and ride.

Heart of Gold has always been about more than who crosses the line first.
It’s about lining up with your friends, wondering if you picked the right tires, eating questionable amounts of snacks at aid stations, bombing down dirt roads with a big grin on your face, and eventually telling everyone that the climb really wasn’t that bad.
E-bikes fit right into that.
So charge that battery to 100%, lie to your buddies about how much assist you’re using, and come get dusty with us.
Heart of Gold Gravel is October 17th.
